L'Arc~en~Ciel memulai karirnya sebagai band visual kei di Osaka lebih dari lima belas tahun yang lalu. Setelah bertahun-tahun berkarir, image mereka bisa dikatakan semakin berubah menjadi lebih mainstream. Mereka menciptakan lagu-lagu dengan range musik yang lebih luas, dari pop-rock yang catchy sampai lagu ballad. Dengan variasi musik ini mereka berhasil menjadi salah satu dari band rock paling top di Jepang. Tidak hanya kepopuleran L'Arc~en~Ciel yang semakin kuat di Jepang, mereka bahkan juga berhasil memukau penikmat musik dan penonton di seluruh dunia. Ini merupakan contoh yang nyata akan musik sebagai bahasa yang universal.

Saybia adalah sebuah band rock yang terbentuk pada tahun 1993. Mereka meluncurkan 3 EP sebelum tergabung ke dalam EMI di musim semi, sesudah mereka mengerjakan album debut mereka bernama The Second You Sleep. Pada saat album ini selesai, mereka melakukan tour eropa. Di 2003, band mereka hampir bubar. Setelah mengakui hal ini, kelima anggota band ini membeli sebuah rumah tua di pulau swedia, memperbaiki itu dan membuat nya menjadi studio. Saybia menghabiskan banyak waktu di pulau ini dan menulis sekaligus merekam banyak lagu untuk album These Are the Days, yang dirilis pada tahun 2004.
Di 2007 mereka menampilkan "Eyes on the highway" dengan album baru mereka dan juga single hit mereka bernama "Angel" direkam di tempat mereka sendiri untuk pertama kali nya.

Album nya yang muncul tahun 2004 The Battle of Everything juga berhasil masuk ke dalam platinum award karena single hit nya "100 Years".
